Because of snow and rigorous winters, the Srinagar-Ladakh and Ladakh-Manali highways, which connect Ladakh with the rest of the country, remain closed between November and June every year.
Leh, the capital, sits at 10,000ft above sea level, higher than most Alpine mountains. At 18,000+ feet (Khardung-La pass), Ladakh has the world’s highest motorable road.

Fly over the Himalayas for a wonderful experience. Upon arrival, you will be met by a Kailash expeditions representative and transferred to the hotel. You should rest for the whole day and let your body acclimatize completely. If you feel like it, you can visit the shanty stupa and Leh Market for shopping. Stay overnight at a hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel will prepare you for an exciting day ahead. Today you will visit the Alchi village. 68 km from Leh, you will visit the 1000-year-old paintings of the Alchi Monastery. You will also visit the great Basgo Gompa along the way (the mud-brick fortress of Basgo Gompa can be found between the Himalaya and Karakoram Mountain ranges in northern India. In addition to its popularity, this place is also the Sangam of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers, which are the two major rivers in Ladakh. On the route to Alchi, you will also take a ride on the gravity-defying hill named Magnetic Hill. Ladakh’s military Hall of Fame is another prime location after that. Following a wonderful exploring session, you will return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, you will be driven to Nubra Valley. At 18,380 feet, Khardung-la-pass is the highest motorable road in the world. Ldorma, or the valley of flowers, is the popular name for Nubra Valley. Between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas, it lies north of Ladakh. Arrive at Hunder and check into the hotel or camp. Afterwards, visit Diskit Village and ride camels on sand dunes. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel/camp.
An early morning drive to TurTuk village with a beautiful landscape, an exotic village. There are only about 4000 people living in Turtuk, which is about 115 km from Nubra valley and is about 3 to 4 hours from here; about 40 years ago, the village was under Pakistan and they speak the Baltistan language. We will go for a walk around the village and meet the people, and we will explore this beautiful village and its life. Later, return to Hunder village. Spend the night at the camp or hotel.
After breakfast, we will drive to Pangong Lake via Shyok, Durbuk, and Tangste villages. It is in the Changthang region of Ladakh, east of Leh, and perhaps one of the most amazing lakes in Asia, changing color four or five times a day. Enjoy the breathtaking view of Pangong Lake in the evening. Pangong Lake Camp overnight.
